At the end of the Spring 2011, I took an inventory of all the classes I still needed to complete and tried to figure out if there was a way I could graduate in Spring 2013. I determined that even if I took three classes every semester, that would get me to Fall 2013 and they don't offer my final practicum class in the Fall. UH-Maui College does not offer any of the classes I need during the Summer so I'm more limited now that I'm an upper classman. So I've decided that if I take two classes every semester, with the exception of one semester where I'll need to add three classes, and the final semester which the school recommends that students take in the last semester by itself, I'm looking at graduating in Spring 2014. This means that from start to finish, I will have taken me seven years to complet my Bachelors where it takes most students four years.
I've resigned myself to this. My rationale is that the classes are getting harder and more demanding, taking only two classes will allow me to concentrate more on the homework that I'll need to complete. This also means that my Summers will be free so I can actually plan to take some real vacation time.
That's exactly what I'm planning to do at the end of Spring 2012. I'm planning a trip to Washington, DC; Lancaster, PA; and Pennsylvania, PA. It will be nice to travel and not have to worry about making sure I complete an assignment while I'm on the road.
